
Diverse. There are more than 60 established religious groups practicing in Utah. Salt Lake City is the world headquarters of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the Mormons), however, all major faiths and denominations practice throughout the area. Sixty-nine percent of Utah's population is Mormon (51 percent of Salt Lake County residents are Mormon) followed by Catholics, Protestants, and other religions such as Southern Baptists, Episcopalians, Methodists, Presbyterians and Jews. Utah is one of four states that has one religious group comprising more than 50 percent of all religious followers in every county of the state.
